Due to Corona Virus restrictions limiting numbers  in indoor venues, South Australian Company Co Opera have had to cancel their Victorian Tour of TOSCA Sunday, November 8 at St Mary’s Church Bairnsdale.

Gippsland Opera have not processed anyone’s credit card payment for this event, hence there is not action to be taken.

For those that paid $30 cash,  we will be contacting those individuals  personally and find out the best option for refunding your $30.  We have been waiting for that official confirmation of cancellation which unfortunately has arrived.

Georgia Wilkinson, Madeleine Crombie, Shanul Sharma, Teddy Tahu Rhodes ….. all our performers  want music back in their life, as do we all.     Once restrictions are eased Gippsland Opera will swing into action, and help  bring music back to  East Gippsland.

Meanwhile keep safe and we send out love to all our loyal patrons, and performers.   Andrea & Keith

Gippsland Opera are proud to announce

with Co Opera  South Australia

Sunday, May 3rd 2020 @ 2pm

St Marys Church Main Street, Bairnsdale.

Giacomo Puccini’s glorious Tosca is the embodiment of verismo opera. Brimming with passion, jealousy, and the spirit of revolution, this new production literally drips with the blood, sweat, and tears of its characters. Considered by many musicians as Puccini’s finest work, it frames some of opera’s greatest moments including the sublime aria Vissi d’Arte.

The new touring production, directed by Co-Opera favourite Nicholas Cannon, will feature seven singers accompanied onstage by Josh van Konkelenberg at the organ, bringing the orchestral colours of the original to life as part of the ecclesiastic set. Truly, this is a production that will make your spirit and your senses soar.

TOSCA is ideal to be performed in a church, since that is where most of it is set, St Mary's will provide a magnificent back drop, and its acoustics are second to none.

Tickets will be on sale at O.B.T.L. which provides our patrons the first opportunity. Allocated seating with special funding for Regional communities the tickets will be $30 which is amazing value as am sure everyone who knows.
